The Rogue is one of the 3 starting Heroes along with the Warrior and Mage. They are unlocked by default.

The Role of the Rogue
Mid-range physical attack (Atk) damage dealer, with potential for high crit. Though Rogues are out-classed by Berserkers for Physical damage, the makeup for it with higher crit and naturally higher accuracy. Because of their high accuracy per Dex they can go for gear with higher stats and still meet the required accuracy rating to be effective at endgame.
